Trying to eat healthy can be overwhelming. What do I focus on? Is Gluten bad for you? But what about Keto?

So many things are thrown around in the "diet culture" that can be confusing. Good news is that we're here to help! When I have clients come in that have taken time away form eating healthy or maybe aren't losing weight and aren't sure why, I come back to this acronym. CLEAN.

C-onsistency : How many meals do you get in a day? Do you snack or graze throughout the day? Are you eating before and after you workout?

L-iquids: How much water do you drink a day? What other types of beverages do you drink? Do you drink sugar-sweetened beverages (juice, soda, sweet tea, lemonade, flavored coffees)? How much and how often do you drink alcohol?

E-ating out: How often do you eat out? Where do you usually go? What do you usually get?

A-dequate calories: Do you track your food or make a food log? Have you ever use a food tracking application (MyFittnessPal)?

N-utritious foods: How many servings of fruits and veggies do you include into your diet? Do you include protein and carbohydrates with all meals? Do you shop the perimeter of the grocery store?

Take a look at these things and evaluate where you are with each one. What can you change out of these to be headed down the right path? I encourage you to grab a notepad and right these down. If you focus on these 5 things, it's hard to go wrong.
